Post Office campaigners to hold rally outside Leinster House



Post office campaigners plan to hold a major rally outside Leinster House when the Dail resumes this Autumn if action is not taken by government to protect local post offices.

The plan follows a major rally attended by post office campaigners from right across the region in Sligo Town on Saturday.

The rally was organised to oppose the planned closure of 21 Post Offices in Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal.

These people who travelled from Dunkineely, Cliffoney and Ballygawley in Sligo told Ocean FM News they will not stand by and allow rural services to close:

Organiser of the rally Sinn Fein Councillor Thomas Healy is urging every community affected by the planned 21 closures to hold similar rallies.

He says they won’t stop until the Minister for Communications Denis Naughten intervenes:
