Letterkenny University Hospital is the most overcrowded hospital in Ireland today with 40 people awaiting admission.
Seven people were on trolleys in its Emergency Department while a further 33 were waiting on wards.
It’s almost double yesterday’s figure of 22.
In the Northwest there are 62 people on trolleys, with 22 waiting on a bed in Sligo University Hospital.
Nationally, there were 333 people waiting at hospitals across the country today – Letterkenny University Hospital accounts for 12% of this overall total.
