Carthy accuses Hogan of not giving priority to family farms



Sinn Fein MEP has accused the Agriculture Commissioner Phil Hogan of prioritising the interests of corporate farming over family farmers.

The reforms of the Common Agricultural Policy, announced recently, have been criticised by MEP Matt Carthy.

The Midlands North-West representative wants to see an upper limit imposed on the direct payments to farmers, in a bid to address what he describes as widening inequality in the sector.
