Agriculture minister in Sligo this evening

The Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine Michael Creed is in Sligo this evening where he will attend the AGM of the Irish Natura and Hill Farmers Association.

The AGM is underway at the Sligo Southern Hotel.

His attendance follows the proposals put forward on CAP by the EU Commission last week, something that all Agriculture Ministers will have to vote on in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, local issues such and lamb prices and the recently announced new electronic tagging system are also concerns for farmers at present as are the ongoing Brexit negotiations.

And you can hear from Minister Michael Creed on our Agr-Week programme tonight from 9pm.
