Women urged not to delay when called to Breastcheck appointments



The new Sligo Town Breastcheck facility will be up and running by the end of June.

The service which provides free mammograms to women on an area by area basis every two years will now be based at the Homecare Pharmacy on the Pearse road.

Women were being invited to attend their appointments in Tubbercurry in south Sligo after the old Carraroe site was no longer available for use by Breastcheck.

Catriona McGoldrick of the Sligo Cancer Services campaign was one of the people to first highlight the issue of women having to travel to south Sligo.

She is welcoming the new location and is urging all women to avail the service when they get their letter:
