Calls for Irish wool industry to be revived



There are calls for the wool industry in Ireland to be revived.

Leitrim Councillor Justin Warnock says the old ‘scouring’ industry is ‘non-existent’ in Ireland now.

He says the around 10 million kilos of wool we generate from the annual clip is exported to Bradford in the UK.

The Fianna Fail Councillor says it’s an opportunity that should be looked at as we face Brexit…
