MEP calls for European Central Bank rep to meet Oireachtas members



A north west member of the European Parliament is calling for a senior representative of the European Central Bank to visit Ireland to meet with TDs and senators.

Sinn Fein’s Matt Carthy has written to the chair of the supervisory board of the ECB, Daniele Nouy, calling on her or her representatives to engage with members of the Oireachtas.

Mr Carty says this is important because of recent moves by several Irish banks to sell loans, including mortgages, to vulture funds.

He has been telling Ocean FM News why a visit by an ECB representatives here should be of any interest to people in Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim:
