A deputation from Sligo County Council is confident they will get exta funding for local roads in the county.
A number of Cllrs met with Transport Minister Shane Ross in Dublin yesterday.
And while there were no guarantees given, Cathaoirleach of the Council Fianna Fail Councillor Seamus Kilgannon says it was a positive meeting.
He says people living on these smaller rural roads have the right to a good and safe road like everyone else:
