Leitrim Calling phone service celebrates 10th anniversary



A Leitrim group that helps ease the loneliness of those living alone is celebrating its 10th anniversary today.

Volunteers with Leitrim Calling make confidential phone calls to people who may be lonely, even doing so on Christmas Day, which can be among the loneliest in the year for some who may have no one to go to or no one to visit them.

Minister of State Jim Daly, who has responsibility for mental health and older people. will attend this evening’s celebration, which will take place at 7:30pm in The Food Hub in Drumshanbo.
