Irish Water cannot give timescale for lifting of Lough Talt Boil Water Notice



Irish Water have said that a boil water notice in South Sligo may remain in place until the Lough Talt treatment plant is upgraded.

A boil water notice, affecting 13,000 customers on the Lough Talt water supply, is now entering its fourth month.

The bacteria cryptosporidium was detected in the supply in February.

Irish Water’s regional information officer Sean Corrigan says they cannot give a timescale of when the boil water notice may be lifted….
