It’s expected that improvement works on O’Connell Street in Sligo town will start in the second quarter of this year and continue for over 12 months.
The project is currently being designed and the tender process to select a contractor has started.
Senior Engineer with Sligo County Council Tom Brennan says a date for a meeting with business owners and occupiers in the area will be issued when the design of the project is more advanced.
The work includes drainage, installation of street furniture, construction of footpath and kerbing, and surfacing of the roadway.
