Transport Minister says major investment planned for infrastructure in the North West



Ministers have arrived at IT Sligo and the Cabinet meeting to sign off on the new plan is now underway.

The document known as Ireland 2040 will outline a vision to our health, housing education, transport and all of the different sectors in the next 20 years.

Ministers Shane Ross, Heather Humphreys and Michael Creed gave a brief outline of what’s in the 2040 document.

They denied that it was being rushed through without getting the approval of the Dail.

Shane Ross also denied that this document was being presented purposely ahead of the next election.

Minister Ross said there would be a particular focus on developing regional towns.

Responding to a query from Ocean FM News, he said that it would see a particular focus on infrastructure and tourism and investment in facilities such as Knock and Donegal airports:
