Rural Broadband rollout plans ‘in tatters’



Plans to rollout broadband to rural homes and businesses are now ‘in tatters’ according to a Sligo Leitrim TD.

It’s after Eir confirmed it’s withdrawing from the bidding process leaving just one tenderer.

Last night Communications Minister Denis Naughten denied that the remaining company now has the government over a barrel.

Sinn Fein Deputy Martin Kenny disagrees and says Minister Naughten has failed to deliver on this important issue for people living in rural areas:
