Lotto Results

The lotto numbers drawn on Monday Jan .22nd were 18, 24, 25 and 30. There was no winner of the €5100 jackpot, nor were there any Match 3 winners. The jackpot is now €5200. As always tickets can be bought from Joe Gildea, Margaret’s Café, Bree’s Bar and Keane’s supermarket.

Bord na nÓg Awards Evening.

The annual awards evening celebrating our underage teams takes place this Saturday, Feb 3rd in Coolera House at 6.30. If anyone has any photos that they would like to share, please email them to pro.coolerastrandhill.sligo@gaa.ie.  This is always a very enjoyable evening, and we hope that all underage teams will be represented. Medals and trophies for players of the year will be presented. We are asking that parents bring along some home baking/goodies, as tea and coffee will be provided.

Registration

This is a reminder that Coolera-Strandhill GAA Club member registration is now open online for the 2018 season. Access is through the club website on www.coolerastrandhill.com and by clicking on the green link. Team managers will not be responsible for accepting membership fees this year. Members who have been paying by direct debit may continue to do so if they wish, or they can opt for on-line registration. If you want to register and cannot remember your password, please click the “Reset Password” button and follow the steps. We ask that you register as soon as possible so as to reduce the significant burden of managing this process on the club registrar and committee. Here’s looking forward to a successful 2018 for us all…!

Garda Vetting and Child Protection

As the new season approaches, coaches, managers and mentors of all under-age players are reminded that they are obliged to have attended training in Child Protection and to be Garda Vetted. Garda Vetting is available on-line. Coaches must also have coaching qualifications. Please check the various websites/social media pages for availability of the relevant courses.

Notes

As the new season fast approaches and training will soon begin for all teams I ask again that if anyone would like to have items included in the club notes, please email  pro.coolerastrandhill.sligo@gaa.ie by Friday evening for inclusion in the following week’s papers.

Grounds Committee

The Grounds Committee is having a meeting on Thursday February 8th in the clubhouse at 9.00. We are fortunate to have a very active, progressive group taking care of our club facilities, ensuring that the pitch is always lined, the dressing rooms are clean and the meeting rooms are maintained to a very high standard. In the recent past, work has been done to the pitch, a boundary fence installed, the walkway around the pitch has been laid and the car park has been resurfaced, in addition to some interior painting, decorating and tiling. The committee is looking for new people to join them this year. If you would be interested in helping in any way, please come along on Thursday 8th as new members are needed to continue the good work.
