€7000 spent on replacing barrier at Connaughton Road carpark



Sligo County Council has confirmed at least €7000 has already been spent on replacing a barrier at Connaughton Road carpark.

The barrier into the public carpark has now been illegally removed three times in less than 6 months.

Members of the extended McGinley family living in caravans in the carpark claim they are being locked in and its a health and safety hazard for them.

The cost confirmed to Ocean FM News this week does not include Garda time or the bill for putting the barrier back up a third time.
