Sinn Fein in Donegal selects Doherty and MacLochlainn



Sinn Fein in Donegal has selected Deputy Pearse Doherty and Senator Padraig MacLochlainn as its Dail candidates for the next general election.

The were chosen at a selection convention in Letterkenny last night (Sunday).

Among the speakers at the convention was the Sinn Fein leader in Northern Ireland, Michelle O’Neill.

In the last general election, Sinn Fein received more than 20,000 first preference votes in Donegal.

Pearse Doherty says the party now hopes to take two of the five seats in Donegal in the next general election.

But he adds that they are taking nothing for granted:
