Sligo’s first Irish language secondary school opened its doors today.
The development, which is situated at Mercy College, is the newest co-educational school in the area in decades.
Fifteen first year students are currently enrolled at Aonad Loch Gile, and the number is expected to grow in the coming years.
Minister Joe McHugh will formally open the Aonad this morning, and he spoke to Ocean FM news :
