Campaign comes to an end for Tourlestrane and Kilcar



The season came to an end for Sligo champions Tourlestrane and Donegal champs Kilcar at the weekend.

Tourlestrane lost out to Castlebar Mitchells in yesterday’s Connacht semi-final on a scoreline of 1-13 to 0-9 in McHale Park.

Castlebar will now face reigning champions Corofin in the final, after the Galway side beat Roscommon’s St Brigid’s by 2-15 to 1-14 after extra-time.

In Ulster, Kilcar lost out to holders Slaughtneil from Derry by 2-17 to 0-17 in Omagh on Saturday.

Derrygonnelly’s hopes of reaching the final remain alive, after they played out a draw after extra-time with Cavan Gaels in Clones.

It finished 0-10 each after ordinary time, and 0-12 each after 80 minutes.

Milford’s journey in the Ulster Intermediate Championship also came to an end at the weekend, as Down side Rostrevor claimed a one-point win.

In Leitrim, Glencar/Manorhamilton made it two wins from two in the U21 Championship, thanks to their defeat of St Joseph’s.

Gaoth Dobhair will face Naomh Conaill in the Donegal U21 A Championship final after beating Glenfin and Ardara respectively at the weekend.

And St Naul’s are through to the B final thanks to their 2-9 to 0-7 win over Naomh Muire.

In Masters football, Sligo lost out to Mayo in the All-Ireland final in Ballymote on Saturday.

It finished 1-10 to 0-9 in favour of the defending champions.
