Cork sign fourth player from Rovers in less than a year as Tobi departs

Cork City boss John Caulfield has raided Sligo Rovers once again.

The double-winners yesterday confirmed the signing of former Bit O’ Red defender Tobi Adebayo-Rowling.

The English full-back spent the past two seasons at the Showgrounds, having been signed by Dave Robertson before the 2016 season.

He was an almost ever-present in his first year at the club and was voted young player of the year by fans.

But missed a number of games in the middle of the 2017 season having been disciplined by the club following an off-field incident.

He was also dropped from the matchday squad for the final game of the season away to Drogheda United two weeks ago.

The 20-year-old is the fourth player to depart the Showgrounds for Turner’s Cross since this time last year, following in the footsteps of Jimmy Keohane, Achille Campion and Kieran Sadlier, who all claimed league and FAI Cup medals with the Rebels.

Meanwhile, the Lee-siders have also confirmed that Karl Sheppard has signed a new deal at the club, despite being linked with a move to rivals Dundalk.
