PRSI contributors can now avail of a free clean and polish for their teeth.
Beginning on Saturday the 28th of October under the Dental Benefit Scheme, people can get a dental scale and polish for their teeth or if it is required, a protracted periodontal treatment.
The scheme covers the cost of the clean upto €42 with the customer paying anything above that price to a maximum of €15, the same rules apply to the periodontal treatment.
Responding to a question asked by Sligo/Leitrim Fine Gael TD, Tony McLoughlin in relation to when the scheme will begin, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar also said that farmers and the self employed will also covered under the scheme for the first time.
