Patience urged with sewer works in Sligo town



The Chairman of Sligo’s Business Improvement District says there is no ‘good’ time to do the work that is currently causing disruption in Sligo town.

Finbarr Filan says the contractors and Irish Water have worked very well with the businesses to minimise disruption.

The work to replace old sewers and water pipes is largely finished in the town centre but work continues on Pearse road.

There has been concern among motorists and especially parents with children going back to school about the delays.

Mr. Filan who runs a business on Castle Street says people need to remember that it’s for the longterm good of the town:
