Opposing sides on HPV vaccine continue campaigns



There will be an information evening in relation to the HPV Vaccine this weekend.

The Gardasil HPV Awareness group is holding the event on Saturday in Sligo Town centre.

Leitrim’s Sean Wynne is the secretary of the group and many other parents like him have concerns about side-effects that their girls got after getting the vaccine.

Speaking to Ocean FM News, Mr. Wynne says there will be members in Sligo handing out information leaflets this weekend:

However, the HSE is continuing its promotion of the benefits of the vaccine.

Dr. Brenda Corcoran, a public health doctor and head of the HSE national immunisation scheme says that this vaccine prevents a concerning cancer in Ireland.

She says the benefits of this vaccine far outweigh the disadvantages:
