Not everyone has concerns about data on new Public Services Card



There is mixed reaction on the streets of Sligo to a Public Services Card now needed to access a growing number of social services.

This week, the Data Protection Commissioner added her voice on this controversial issue stating that while it’s a legitimate move to introduce such a card, the government needs to be transparent.

By that she means explaining to people the data that will be retained on the card and who will be able to access that personal information.

While people in Sligo have mixed views on the matter, the majority who spoke to Ocean FM News today feel it could be a progressive move:
