Few years yet before major N16 works on Sligo side



Motorists commuting daily on the windy N16 between Sligo and Manorhamilton will have to wait another couple of years before any major upgrade takes place on the Sligo side.

However, Senior Engineer with Sligo County Council Emer Concannon says that the longterm plan to upgrade the road by removing alot of the bad bends is well underway.

However, Ms. Concannon says there’s still a good amount of preparation work to do before funding could be secured from Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) for the work to start.

She says once the money has been secured, the Lugatober area will be the Council’s first priority:
