People in Bundoran speak out on concerns about a lack of local representation



People in Bundoran have a mixed reaction to the fact that for the first time in 50 years they have no Councillor based in the town.

It follows the cooption of Mícheal Naughton who lives in Laghey onto the seat previously held by the late Councillor Sean McEniff.

He defeated three other candidates including Sean McEniff’s daughter Elizabeth McIntyre also from Bundoran at the convention on Sunday.

While some people who spoke to Ocean FM News in Bundoran say they are not too concerned, one business owner says he does not think it will help tourism.

It has also raised the question about whether the town councils would be a welcome return to towns like Bundoran:
