There are almost 100 fewer Gardai in County Donegal since 2010

A Donegal TD has hit out at the fact that there are almost 100 less Gardai in the county since 2010.

A total of 600 recruits will be graduating this year from Templemore.

Fianna Fail TD, Charlie McConalogue confirmed the figure through written correspondence with the former Justice Minister, Frances Fitzgerald.

Training for the new recruits began in 2014 and Deputy McConalogue states that just under 1,000 new Gardai have graduated from Templmore since then however, Donegal has only been allocatted 17 personnell in that time.

Speaking to Ocean FM news, Deputy McConalogue says that it’s unacceptable.
