Former Minister says that the number of women in cabinet is irrelevant



Former Minister and deputy leader of Fianna Fail Mary O’Rourke says the number of women in cabinet is irrelevant.

She was in Sligo recently for an event in the homeplace of her mother who was from Drumcliffe.

She said we must give the new Cabinet under Leo Varadkar time to bed in.

However, she says criticism of the new Taoiseach for not appointing more women is nonsense.

She told Ocean FM she does not feel more women should have been appointed as the best person should get the job:
