Sligo County Council says it’ll continue to engage with a family living in Connaughton Road car park with a view to finding a solution to their accommodation needs.
The McGinley family has been living in the car park for close to the last four decades.
They had previously declined offers of rehousing due to what the family say were unsuitable conditions.
In a statement to Ocean FM News this morning, Sligo County Council says it’s continuing to liaise with the family in an effort to find them alternative housing within the resources available to it.
It follows on from an incident at Connaughton Road car park earlier this week which led to three family members being hospitalised.
