Sligo GAA says it did not use too many subs in game against Antrim

The secretary of the Sligo GAA County Board says they did NOT use too many substitutes during their 0-22 to 3-7 defeat of Antrim in Markievicz Park at the weekend.

There have been claims that Sligo used an extra sub when Kyle Cawley came on to replace veteran Mark Breheny after 44 minutes.

There were even suggestions on the Antrim side that they might get a replay.

But the Sligo secretary, Gerry O Connor, told Ocean FM this afternoon that Cawley replaced Breheny in what was a blood substitution.

O’Connor says they this blood substituion was NOT an extra sub.

He added that all rules had been adhered to.
