Is more common sense needed in local planning? Glamping Park developer believes so…



Enniscrone’s well known Quirky Glamping park owner claims that people with ideas to bring people and business to county Sligo are being crippled by regulations.

David McGowan, who is now well-known for bringing a plane into Enniscrone last year to develop his glamping park, is now trying to raise funds to ensure his plans can go ahead.

He has organised the Live On Air music festival this weekend but says he was forced to abandon plans to host a camping site exclusively at the Castle Field after he found out he would face 43 planning regulations.

This made his plans out of reach financially and he was forced to refund people and find alternative camping locally and as far out as Belleek Forest in Ballina.

Mr. MacGowan says he’s not against regulations but feels common sense should apply:
