N4 works to go to tender in 2018

Sligo County Council is planning to put to tender next year, works on the N4 between Castlebaldwin and Collooney.

The dangerous stretch of road has claimed many lives over the years and is in desperate need of upgrading.

Members of Sligo County Council were updated on the road’s status at yesterday’s SPC meeting. It is hoped that the work which is estimated to cost over one hundred million euro will get underway in 2019.

Sinn Fein Councillor Thomas Healy attended yesterday’s meeting and welcomed the news.
