Protests will take place this Good Friday evening at Sligo and Letterkenny University Hospitals over cutbacks and waiting lists in the health service.
They are among more than 16 hospitals across the country where the Still Waiting Campaign will be holding vigils starting at 5 o’clock.
Campaign Co-Ordinator Cyril Brennan says they are demanding an investment programme that would prioritise prevention over cure.
They also want a State-run home help service, more hospital beds and more transition beds in communtiy hospitals and a restoration of pay for nurses and healthcare workers to pre-crisis levels.
And it is also highlighting the need for more funding for mental health services.
