A West of Ireland TD says school buses will be affected very soon if some kind of a resolution is not found to the bus strike.
The strike is now in its 5th day with unions not happy with the plans for cost-cutting at the company while Bus Eireann says it’s will be insolvent shortly and it needs to make cuts.
Independent TD Michael Fitzmaurice says that with the garages on strike too if any school bus breaks down there is noone to fix it.
He also says with clerical workers now out on strike, private company on contracts with Bus Eireann could be affected by payment issues:
