More than 500 farmers attend INHFA meeting in Manorhamilton

A recent meeting of the Irish Natura and Hill Farmers Association ANC campaign saw over 500 farmers pack into the Bee Park Centre in Manorhamilton.

On the night Independent MEPs Marian Harkin and Luke ‘Ming’ Flanagan, Sinn Fein’s Matt Carthy and Sligo/Leitrim Fianna Fail TD Eamon Scanlon were also in attendance.

They heard concerns from farmers living in rural disadvantaged areas who are fearlful of losing out on payments due to a review of Areas of Natural Constraint being undertaken by the Department of Agriculture.

Chairman of the campaign Colm O’Donnell told Ocean FM they were happy the local representatives are willing to take up their case but disappointed there was no representative from government present.
