Road safety warning ahead of St Patrick’s weekend

The Road Safety Authority and An Garda Siochana have issued a warning to the public and motorists ahead of the St. Patrick’s Day weekend.

According to the RSA 38% of all fatal collisions between 2008 and 2012 involved the consumption of alcohol.

30 people were killed on roads in the northern region which covers Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, Cavan and Monaghan in 2016.

Crime Prevention officer in Donegal Paul Wallace says the message is not getting through to people.
