Call for survey of water pipes in Rathbraughan area of Sligo

A local councillor is calling on Irish Water to carry out a survey of pipes serving a large area of Sligo Town that has recently had repeated interruptions to its service.

Sinn Fein Councillor Thomas Healy says that during the past two years there have been repeated bursts along the water mains to the Rathbraughan area of the town.

Cllr Healy believes the pipeline is in poor condition.

And he points out the bursts mostly occur at weekends when there’s probably more people using water.

Councillor Healy says this is an ongoing problem in the Rathbraughan area.
