Mandate confidant of similar result from tonight’s staff re-ballot

Mandate’s representative in the North West is confidant staff at Tesco stores in Sligo and Ballina will vote for industrial action when balloted tonight.

Staff at the two stores had voted to undertake strike action a number of weeks ago but had to cancel it due to a technical error.

Ciaran Campbell believes that the behaviour of the supermarket since that action was cancelled will have galvanised the workers even more.

A number of stores nationwide voting against industrial action already this week and Mr. Campbell says the democratic will of it’s members will be listened to.

Something he claims Tesco has not done.
