Harrison case to be included in terms and reference of new tribunal



The case of a Donegal-based Garda WILL be included in the terms of reference of a public inquiry into the treatment of Garda whistleblower Maurice McCabe.

The terms of reference for the tribunal will go before the Dail and Seanad later for approval.

Garda Keith Harrison claims he was also the victim of a five-year campaign of intimidation and there have been calls this week to ensure that his case is included.

Sinn Fein Donegal Deputy Pearse Doherty who raised Harrison’s allegations first the first time in the Dail in May 2014 has welcomed the inclusion of this case in the terms of reference.

The inquiry will examine any negative links between the Gardaí and Tusla.
