Taoiseach ‘aware’ of improved infrastructure needs of the North West



A government TD in Sligo Leitrim says the Taoiseach is committed to improving infrastructure to the North West.

It follows a rally held outside the Dail yesterday by Sligo group Revive North West to highlight the lack of investment over the years in this region and the impact that’s having on the local economy.

Fine Gael TD Tony McLoughlin says the focus right now is on improving the stretch of the N4 from Collooney to Castlebaldwin.

He says the N4 action group headed by Bernard Mulherin has been fighting for this work to start for years and the work which is underway by the Council will make a huge improvement to travel times.

However, speaking following the protest yesterday evening Deputy McLoughlin said the Taoiseach as a Mayo man is very much aware of the need for a more longterm vision for both the N4 and the N5:
