IDA confident the North West can continue to maintain US investment

The IDA’s Business & Relationship development manager for the border region believes they can continue to provide a base for American companies no matter what happens in the US.

It comes amid public fears that potential changes to corporation tax in America could entice companies to relocate back to the States.

Newly elected president Donald Trump hopes to reduce the tax to 15%.

John Nugent, however, says that any changes to the tax system in the US shouldn’t effect businesses in Ireland as they will continue to need a European base of operations.

He says existing companies have invested much time and money already in the region.
