Death of 68-year old Sligo man found in his home not thought to be suspicious



A 68-year old Sligo man has died from what is believed to have been smoke inhalation in his home.

Patrick Flynn, Carrickbanagher, Drumfin, between Collooney and Ballymote, was found by a neighbour yesterday afternoon.

His body was removed to Sligo University Hospital where a post mortem was carried out this morning.

Gardai are continuing their investigations but it’s understood the circumstances are not suspicious.

A single farmer, he was known locally as Pakie.

It’s understood there was only minor smoke damage in his house.

His remains will repose at the Perry Funeral Home in Collooney tomorrow evening from 5 to 6:30pm.

His funeral Mass will take place in the Church of the Assumption in Collooney on Friday at 11am with burial afterwards in St Nathy’s Cemetery, Collooney.
