Sligo councillor raises fears of people being removed from housing list



Fears have been raised by a local councillor about people being removed from social housing support in Sligo.

A motion was put before a meeting of the Sligo municipal district this week by councillor Declan Bree asking why people are being deemed ineligible for social housing support despite already being on the council housing list.

The independent councillor called on Chief Executive Ciaran Hayes to make a statement on the matter but was told that individual cases cannot be discussed or commented on in the council chamber.
