Funeral arrangements announced for victim of landslide accident



Funeral arrangements have been announced for the 37-year old man who was tragically killed in a landslide at a windfarm on the border of Sligo, Leitrim and Roscommon on Monday evening last.

Thirty-seven year old Paddy McCaffrey was originally from Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan but was living in Carrowkeel, Rossinver, Co Leitrim.

He lost his life in the accident while working on Derrysallagh Windfarm near Ballyfarnon, in the Arigna area.

His body was recovered early Tuesday morning.

His remains will repose at his residence in Rossinver tomorrow, Thursday from 12 noon until 9pm.

His funeral will arrive at St Aidan’s Church, Ballaghameehan, on Friday morning for 11am funeral mass, with burial afterwards in Rossinver Cemetery.

The wind farm site on which he lost is life is being developed by the Tralee, Co Kerry-headquartered Moriarty civil engineering company.

Mr McCaffrey had been working for the company for a year.

He is survied by his wife, Helen Dowdican, from Tullaghan, Co Leitrim.
