Donegal Cllr Mac Giolla Easpuig calls for release of Derry republican



A Donegal county councillor is claiming a 48-year old Derry man is being ‘interned without trial’ for nearly 300 days in the north of Ireland.

Independent Councillor Miceal Cholm Mac Giolla Easpuig says Tony Taylor has had his licence from a previous sentence revoked but the reasons have not been disclosed or tested in court.

Taylor is being held in Maghaberry Prison, near Lisburn, Co Antrim.

Donegal County Council has unanimously passed a motion put forward by Cllr MacGiolla Easpuig calling for Taylor’s release.
