Gardai in Donegal have launched a new campaign to protect homes from burglary this winter.
‘If you love it lock up and light up’ is part of the Operation Thor National Crime Prevention Initiative.
Gardai are urging the public to keep lights on when not in the house, lock all doors and windows, use their alarm and to report any incidents of crime.
Burglaries in Donegal have come down by 16% this year but Crime Prevention Officer Paul Wallace says people need to stay vigilant.
