Independent councillor opposes 2017 Donegal co co budget

A Donegal councillor says the only way for the county to highlight it’s lack of funding was to reject yesterdays proposed budget.

Independent councillor Micheal Cholm Mac Giolla Easbuig opposed the 2017 budget which was passed yesterday.

The council will have 2.2 million euro more to spend in 2017 but councillor Mac Giolla Easbuig says that isn’t even close to what is needed to improve infrastructure, housing and tourism.

He told Ocean FM a strong message needed to be sent to government.
