A government Minister has confirmed that the rules that determine whether or not pupils are eligible for school transport are under review.
The issue was raised by Sligo Leitrim TD Martin Kenny in the Dail yesterday with Minister Frances Fitzgerald who was taking questions on behalf of the government.
It goes back to changes introduced in 2010 when new rules were brought in which moved huge numbers of children into the concessionary category or denied them a bus ticket completely.
Sinn Fein TD Martin Kenny has been calling for the criteria to be changed.
