Stone map of Ireland to be unveiled in Donegal

A fifteen foot high map in Donegal made entirely of stone is believed to be the first of it’s kind in the world.

An idea hatched by a community based group in Glencolmcille used masons from every county in Ireland to put together the monument.

The masons were asked to carve the geographical county native to them.

Stones of Ireland is due to be unveilled as part of the annual Tir Chonaill Stone Festival in Glencolmcille tomorrow.

Louise Price is the chairperson of the team
