Donegal’s U17 Celtic Challenge campaign came to an end in Dundalk IT on Saturday, as the young hurlers lost out by 8-12 to 0-8 to a strong Waterford City team in the Division Four semi-finals.
Donegal had beaten Leitrim in last weekend’s quarter-final.
Waterford will now play Laois in the final, after the Leinster men beat Tyrone by 6-21 to 1-7 in the other semi.
In Division One, Down, who beat Sligo in last weekend’s quarter-final, lost out to 3-18 to 1-14 to South Kilkenny in Abbottstown, with the Kilkenny side now set to face Dublin Pearse in the final, with the capital team beating Antrim by 2-17 to 1-10 in Dundalk.
