A Sligo TD is urging the Taoiseach to ensure that some of the extra money allocated to the Department of Health this week goes homecare packages in the north west.
Yesterday, the Cabinet gave out extra money to a number of Departments after recent tax returns were higher than expected.
Health got the bigggest allocation of 500 million and it will be spent on restoring the mental health budget, increase home-help hours and meeting demands in hospitals.
